The Marine Bar - Cameron House

The De Vere Cameron House Hotel is located in Dunbartonshire in the heart of Scotland on the banks of Loch Lomond and is close to the pulsating cosmopoliton city of Glasgow. Away from the city centres, Loch Lomond is known as the gateway to the highlands and is one of the country's most scenic delights. Cameron House, a beautifully appointed ancestral home is situated on the southern shores of the loch with some of Scotland's most dramatic scenery as backdrop, including stunning views of Ben Lomond and 108 acres of wonderful grounds and magnificent woodland.

 
As well as boasting all the usual indoor facilities such as solarium, jacuzzi etc. outside you're spoilt for choice with not only golf, archery and clay pigeon shooting but also the magnificent marina with sailing or water sports on the loch, where you'll find The Marine Bar with a comprehensive choice of food and drink.

 

 
 

 

The management at T.M.Taylor would like to thank De Vere Hotels for the unusual invitation to tender for The Marine Bar contract and due to our competetive edge we were delighted in being awarded the project.

This alteration and refurbishment to an existing restaurant with a very traditional decor was re-designed by B.D.C. Designs of Warrington and gave a unique opportunity to refresh the restaurants image. With this in mind it was transformed into a much brighter, colourful and more modern restaurant with a definite mediteranean feel which is emphasised by the lovely views out over the water.

 

 

The largest feature of the new look reaturant, and to the delight ot it's clientel is it's wood burning pizza oven where the food is cooked on the same surface as the fire giving a unique flavour. The oven was imported specifically for this project by De Vere Hotels from the oven manufacturer Beech in Brisbane, Australia, and is definitely favoured by hotel guests, local residents and staff alike. Beech is one of the worlds leading manufacturers of stone hearth cooking equipment for the Foodservice industry and in the last 10 years has become the industry leader on custom made refractory based speciality cooking equipment.
